Air Resources Engineer/Air Pollution Specialist -- California Air Resources Board

There is an open position in the air-quality modeling program at the California Air Resources Board (ARB). They are looking for an engineer or a scientist with a strong background in atmospheric science and who also has very good verbal and written communication skills. Candidates may be experienced or recent college graduates.

More information on this vacancy can be found at:

http://jobs.spb.ca.gov/wvpos/more_info.cfm?recno=346349

This is a permanent, full-time position. They would appreciate receiving a letter of interest and a resume from interested parties via e-mail as soon as possible (more information on the formal ARB application process is below). A signed and dated State of California Application Form (also discussed below) can be sent separately via mail.

In order to be offered a position at the ARB, applicants must be listed as eligible for "Air Resources Engineer" or "Air Pollution Specialist" positions on a list maintained by their Human Resources (HR) Division. This is deemed "list eligible". Interested parties also must either be a U.S. Citizen or have a current visa with work authorization for a permanent, full-time position.

To accomplish list eligibility, a State application form as well as a 'supplemental questionnaire' must be submitted to and approved by ARB's HR Division. In addition, a separate State Application form must be submitted to the contact person listed on the position advertisement.

Completing the list eligibility information for ARB's HR Division can be done simultaneously with applying for the open position(s), but should be completed and approved prior to interviewing. Links to the State application and the supplemental questionnaire forms can be found via the following web page under the section titled Air Pollution Specialist/Air Resources Engineer Supplemental Examination.
