Atmospheric Chemist -- State of Utah, Department of Environmental Quality




The Planning Branch within the Utah Division of Air Quality invites applications for an atmospheric chemist position for ongoing modeling and monitoring studies of winter and summer-time air pollution formation in Utah. We seek candidates with experience in air quality data analysis and Linux based photochemical modeling to advance our understanding of model performance and dominant air pollutant formation pathways. Desired experience includes data analysis of ambient chemistry data, understanding of ozone and secondary PM2.5 formation, assessment and improvement of model chemical mechanisms and the associated model inputs used for photochemical modeling. Candidates with excellent oral and written communication skills from a regulatory or research background are welcomed.
