REQUIREMENTS


* **Advanced degree in atmospheric science, meteorology, wind engineering or a related discipline


* **Demonstrated superior problem recognition/definition, analytical and
solving skills


* **Knowledge of probability and statistics


* **Strong PC and software skills (programming a plus - Java, SQL, Matlab)


* **Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills


* **Demonstrated ability to make decisions utilizing sound judgment


* **Strong willingness to work in a team as well as work independently


* **Ability to effectively manage own time and priorities


* **Highly motivated individual with a flair for applying knowledge of
science and engineering to solve insurance/risk transfer problems



Essential Responsibilities


* Understand and evaluate the wind related hazards specific to North, Central, and South America


* Assist or lead in developing probabilistic risk assessment models for atmospheric perils


* Provide support to the company underwriters in understanding and pricing natural catastrophe risk


* Act as a liaison between the scientific community and our company.



Ancillary Responsibilities


* **Represent Global organization (employer) at various client and industry events


* **Stay abreast with the latest developments in atmospheric science and wind engineering


* **Knowledge of catastrophe modeling technology



Physical Demands
