Postdoctoral Assistantship Available -- Purdue University

MICRO METEOROLOGY, TRACE GAS FLUX
DEPT. OF AGRONOMY, PURDUE UNIVERSITY

Postdoctoral Assistantship available to participate in the "National Air
Emissions Monitoring Study" (http://www.agairquality.com/) designed to
provide quality-assured ammonia , hydrogen sulfide, methane (and other
gases) emissions from open area sources of representative animal feeding
operations across the US. Emissions are determined using Lagrangian and
Eulerian emission models in combination with gas concentration
measurements using cutting-edge open- and closed-path methodologies and
wind/turbulence measurements using sonic anemometers. Results will be
used by the USEPA to determine which agricultural operations are subject
to various regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities will include adapting state-of-the-art technologies for
remote monitoring, conducting these measurements, and analyzing the
measurements and emission model results. The successful applicant will
join a team of four technicians and post-doctoral researchers.

QUALIFICATIONS: PhD in agricultural or environmental engineering, air
quality, or agricultural, micrometeorological or air pollution
meteorology or related field. Experience in micrometeorological or air
quality field measurements is desirable. Willingness to travel for 5 to
8 days every month is required.

The position is available immediately. Position is for at least 1 year.
Salary commensurate with experience. Interested persons should contact
Dr. Richard H. Grant: 765-404-2085 (cell), 765-494-8048 (office),
