Postdoctoral Research Position -- University of Michigan

The department of atmospheric, oceanic, and space sciences of University of Michigan at Ann Arbor invites applicants for a postdoctoral research position or a visiting scholar position in satellite data analysis.

The successful applicant will join a research group led by Prof. Xianglei Huang that utilizes satellite data and climate model simulation to assess the observational constraints on longwave feedback mechanisms. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in atmospheric science or a closely related field and be familiar with basic satellite data analysis and radiative transfer - especially in the infrared and about spectrally resolve radiances. The successful applicant should also demonstrate facility with modern programming environments. Being proficient in Matlab and Unix shell script would be extra plus.
The positions are awarded initially for a one-year period and, subject to the funding availability, may be renewed in one-year increments for a maximum of two additional years. The annual starting salary is competitive and commensurate with education and experience.
