
MeteorologistLondon/CityJob Description: With an extensive portfolio of products and services covering the following markets: gas, power, emissions, weather, coal and oil we are a highly successful commodities business. We are a wholesale energy trader, trading in the US and European markets. We trade electricity, gas and weather with a variety of counterparties including owners of energy assets, banks, other wholesale traders and electricity and gas suppliers. Our forecasts lead publicly available forecast services and models, and are critical inputs to the fundamental frameworks that drive our trading strategies. Continued business success means we need to hire an experienced meteorologist. As part of a dynamic team you will create proprietary short, medium and long term weather forecasts for Global energy markets including temperature, precipitation, and wind. Working closely with traders and analysts to gain an understand weather impacts on each traded market you will identify weather conditions that affect trading. You will liaise with forecasters and analysts to research developing tools and projects to advance our forecasting edge. You have demonstrable experience of producing accurate short, medium and long term weather forecasts, identifying changing weather patterns and forecasts, and researching weather related areas. Self motivated, you have strong, clear communication skills, and an ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
