(currently under review), depending on experience Applications are invited for a post-doctoral position to work with Professor John Pyle to model and interpret data to be collected in a major tropical field campaign taking place in 2005/2006. The successful applicant will work closely with colleagues in the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics to initiate a programme of mesoscale modelling to understand the role of deep tropical convection in tracer transport. Some participation in the field campaigns will be possible. Applicants should have (or be about to receive) a PhD in physical or theoretical chemistry, or a related relevant area, and must have experience of numerical modelling methods. The post is available immediately, and appointment will be for two years, subject to a probation period of six months.
