Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the Department of Meteorology University of
Hawaii at Manoa The University of Hawaii at Manoa, Department of Meteorology, invites applications for a full-time, general funds, tenure-track Assistant Professor position (appointment at the Associate Professor level will be considered in cases where the applicant has a proven record of outstanding research and teaching), to begin approximately August 1, 2006, subject to position clearance. The Department seeks candidates with demonstrated research expertise in observational aspects of the areas of synoptic, mesoscale, boundary layer or physical meteorology. Candidates should be able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in at least some of the following areas: synoptic meteorology, tropical meteorology, mesoscale meteorology, meteorological instrumentation, satellite meteorology, cloud physics and radiative transfer. An earned Ph.D. in Meteorology or a closely related field is required, as are excellent communication skills; a demonstrated capability for creative, high quality research; and a demonstrated capability and desire to contribute to teaching and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students.
