
ESA ERIN Young Graduate Trainee in Atmospheric ResearchThe Young Graduate Trainee is to perform intercomparisons between similar geophysical and engineering products from the three atmospheric instruments on board Envisat: GOMOS, MIPAS and SCIAMACHY. Supporting tools have already been developed for this activity and a rich collated dataset is waiting to be exploited. Important intercomparison targets are physical parameters (pressure, temperature), chemical parameters (Ozone, H2O, and if the candidate is familiar with modeling, also NO2, where a diurnal model is to be applied), and engineering parameters, in particular those related to pointing. Applicants should have just completed, or be in their final year of a University course at Masters level in a technical or scientific discipline, preferably Physical Sciences or Mathematics. Candidates must be fluent in English or French, the official languages of the Agency. Contracts are for one year. The closing date is 15 December 2005.
