WNI Weathernews UK Ltd is looking to recruit suitably qualified and
motivated personnel to work/train as weather forecasters for permanent
positions within our busy operations office in Aberdeen, Scotland**.
Initially the post would be on our Media forecast bench producing a
variety of television and public service weather forecasts with gradual
progression into marine forecasting for the offshore oil and gas
industry. Minimum education requirements are a BSc in Meteorology or Physics (2:1 or above) or an MSc in Applied Meteorology. Alternatively a professional qualification from a National Weather Bureau/Service (IFC/AFC from the UK Met Office) would be acceptable. In addition to the Aberdeen office forecast positions, a further opportunity may develop in the near future for personel to work in our Global Centre in Makuhari, Chiba, Japan (close to Tokyo) as part of the Weathernews global forecast team. Successful candidates would be expected to come to Aberdeen, Scotland for a 3 month familiarisation and training period in our forecast office followed by 3 to 6 month tours in Japan.
