PhD Student/Post-Doc position The laboratory of Dr. Josef Tanny and Dr. Shabtai Cohen has a position available for one full-time PhD student or Post-Doc. Work entails: setting up, maintaining, obtaining and analyzing data from an eddy covariance tower; collecting field data of soil heat flux and temperature, air temperature and humidity, solar radiation; data managing and analyses. Required qualifications include a Master's or PhD degree in agricultural meteorology, atmospheric science, fluid dynamics and/or a related field. Significant experience with eddy flux systems and micrometeorological measurements will be an advantage. Preferred qualifications include experience with data loggers operation, and good technical skills. The successful candidate will work mainly at the Agricultural Research Organization, Volcani Center, Bet Dagan, Israel, with experimental sites at different locations in Israel. Bet Dagan is a suburb of Tel Aviv near Rishon Lezion and Rehovot. He will explore how turbulent techniques like eddy covariance can be applied inside large screenhouses and greenhouses to measure fluxes of latent and sensible heat and CO2.
