Post-doctoral Position in Meteorology Department of Geophysics Facultad de Ciencias Fisicas y Matematicas Universidad de Chile Santiago, Chile The Department of Geophysics at the University of Chile has opened a two-year post doctoral position in Meteorology beginning in August 2007. The research of our Department focuses on the understanding of atmospheric phenomena and processes in Chile, western South America and the adjacent ocean, using observations as well as numerical models. Active research areas include: * Climate Variability and Climate Change: Evaluation, Interpretation and Projections * Synoptic, Mountain and Coastal Meteorology * Boundary Layer Meteorology and Atmospheric Chemistry (urban & regional) Applicants must hold a PhD in Meteorology or closely related discipline obtained in the last 3 years. The specific nature of the post-doctoral research will be largely defined by the candidate, and all applicants are expected to provide a brief (no more than 3 pages) proposal of the research they wish to undertake during their time at the University.
