A two-year post-doctoral position is available at the Department of Ecology to study carbon fluxes by field measurements and modelling. The main goals are to quantify carbon budgets of forest ecosystems, to increase understanding of underlying processes, and to improve carbon cycle models. The tasks will mainly include analysis of existing data, and to some extent maintenance of ongoing field measurements. The applicant should be experienced with environmental measurements, database handling, and high-level computer programming. Understanding of fluxes within the soil-plant-atmosphere system and knowledge in biology, chemistry, and meteorology is also desirable. The applicant should have proven good skills in both oral and written scientific English, ability for work at remote field sites, and a car driver license.
