Altoona Curve Game Outing: PSUBAMS officers are planning a department outing to an Altoona Curve game on Thursday, September 1 (7:05 p.m.). Please email Zack Byko (zmb102@psu.edu) as soon as possible if you would like to attend so he can order seats. Tickets will be approx. $5-8 depending on where the seats are purchased. You will need to tell him in the email how many seats you need. Science and Engineering post-doctoral and graduate students with a strong interest in careers in planetary exploration are encouraged to apply for NASA's 17th Annual Planetary Science Summer School, which will hold two sessions this summer--July 25-29 and August 1-5 at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. The deadline for applications, which can be submitted electronically by visiting http://www2.jpl.nasa.gov/pscischool/, is June 3, 2005.

But, the Tuesday before the Thanksgiving holiday (November 22) will follow a FRIDAY class schedule. A mobile, nowcasting and prediction system designed to run in the back of a HUMVEE on the battlefield, has been approved for full rate production.
