Assistant Professor - Climate Change and Sustainability

We are looking for a meteorologist (tropical meteorologist with expertise in coupled ocean-atmosphere modeling, large-scale, tropical cyclones, etc.) who has an interest in sustainability and can teach undergraduate-level courses in sustainability (apart from meteorology courses).

Job description

The Department of Ocean Engineering and Marine Sciences at the Florida Institute of Technology invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position in the area of Climate Change and Sustainability. The position is posted at the assistant-professor level, but exceptional candidates with appropriate levels of experience may be considered for appointment at the associate level. 

The successful candidate will be expected to teach both graduate and undergraduate courses in meteorology and sustainability; conduct and maintain an active, extramurally funded research program; publish scholarly work; mentor graduate students; and engage in service activities. Applicants must have an earned doctorate in a relevant field and demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, as well as an interest in interdisciplinary and collaborative research. Postdoctoral experience will be considered an asset. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
