Job description

Innovim is seeking a number of qualified candidates to support tasks at the Climate Prediction Center/NCEP/NWS.

The candidate will provide science and software development support for research and applications work to enhance the operational Climate Prediction Center. The candidates must be a U.S. Citizen, or Permanent Resident holding a working status, and be able to pass a NACI clearance.

The positions require Ph.D or M.S. in atmospheric sciences or hydrology.   Required experience includes the ability to process and analyze large observational and dynamical model datasets and a strong background and working knowledge in statistical analysis. Candidates need to be proficient in scientific programming and display (e.g., Python, MATLAB, GrADs, NCL, etc.) and UNIX shell scripting with experience using ArcGIS helpful. Candidates should have experience working both independently and as part of a team in designing and carrying out research.

The position is located at the National Center for Weather and Climate Prediction, 5830 University Research Court, College Park, MD.
