Since 2009, Prescient Weather has built a comprehensive and widely used commercial platform for both weather and climate forecasting on subseasonal to seasonal (S2S) time scales and weather-based global crop yield monitoring.  Our products, the World Climate Service and CropProphet have gained a reputation as innovative SaaS products, uniquely combining modern forecast and historical data sets to generate unique predictive insight. 

Prescient Weather has successfully grown its customer base and needs to ensure customer satisfaction and success.  The customer success technician will frequently contact customers while assisting with content creation for marketing and sales development purposes. 


We seek a highly capable customer support technician.  The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Answering customer product and technical questions received through email, social media, and other channels.
  • Establishing and maintaining new prospect and customer login details.
  • Answering customer and prospective customers' questions regarding the information and functionality of our products.
  • Demonstrating the capabilities of our software-as-a-service weather and climate information platforms.
  • Conducting periodic discussions with customers to ensure their satisfaction with products, data, and information.
  • Assist in developing product documentation and training material.
  • Supporting our customers with their digital data acquisition.
  • Creating analytical content using Prescient Weather data for distribution to customers and prospects via email, social media, and other channels. This will be accomplished using Python or R in coordination with your manager.
  • Sourcing publicly available meteorological, climatological, crop, and other data and preparing it for weather/climate impact analysis as related to our products.

  • A bachelor's degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science or a related degree is preferred. We will also consider people with degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in technical support, customer service, or a related role.
  • Proficiency in Python or R programming language is required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically to diagnose and resolve issues effectively.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • A customer-centric approach with a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing time effectively to meet customer needs and deadlines.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a fully remote, dynamic environment.
