Maxar is currently seeking an Entry-level Operational Meteorologist to join our team remotely within the United States.


Your Project: Maxar provides global weather forecasts to commodity and energy operations clients, allowing them to stay ahead of emerging conditions impacting financial trading, agriculture production, and critical infrastructure. Our meteorologists succinctly translate weather data into valuable insights through sound attention to science and customer needs in a 24/7/365 environment.

Provide continuously updated weather information to commodity sensitive and risk management focused clients for the purpose of managing the impact of weather on client businesses

Contribute forecast ideas ranging from real-time to seasonal outlooks 

Conduct basic or applied research in meteorology

Leverage creative thinking and innovative ideas to meet client needs

Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner

Respond promptly to customer needs

Minimum Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen

Bachelor's degree in meteorology or a related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree

Ability to accommodate required night and weekend work


Preferred Qualifications:

Professional meteorology experience

Experience with basic computer programming

Strong written and verbal communication skills
