I'm writing today to tell you about an opening that may be of interest to your graduating students. The University of Maryland is hiring a mesonet technician for the Maryland mesonet. This position is a 12-month appointment but is renewable (and we fully expect it will be). The technician will lead the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of Maryland Mesonet stations, as well as maintain Maryland Mesonet maintenance & lab facilities. The "6 years of experience" in the posting may be substituted in any combination of undergraduate/graduate work or on-job experience. I am willing to consider undergraduate students who worked with instrumentation or observational weather data during their undergraduate work as experience on top of their coursework. The position will be based at University of Maryland's main campus in College Park within the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Science.
