WVVA television, a Gray Media station in Bluefield, WV, is looking for a meteorologist to join our team! If you are a meteorologist who is dedicated to weather coverage and can tell a compelling story every day, we are looking for you! This is your opportunity to forecast the weather in Four Seasons country!

Weather is of the utmost importance to our station and our community. We are looking for a knowledgeable forecaster, compelling storyteller and team player for this critical Weekend Meteorologist/Multimedia Journalist role. The ideal candidate will have a comfortable on-air appearance and be able to break down complex weather solutions into easy-to-understand broadcast and online weathercasts as well as provide written stories and multimedia weather content on all platforms.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Create and deliver accurate forecasts.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Generate leadable and original story ideas.
• Work well under pressure in deadline-driven situations.
• Ability to connect with the audience.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in meteorology or related field is preferred.
• A strong social media background to engage and respond to our community is a plus.
• Basic experience with weather computer systems is preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license and pass a motor vehicle records check.
