Perry Weather: Operational Meteorologist

Perry Weather seeks a qualified Operational Meteorologist to oversee and address our clients’ meteorological needs. You will provide accurate and timely operational forecasts for clients in a wide variety of industries and geographic areas, tailoring information to each client’s specific needs. As an Operational Meteorologist you should be a motivated individual, able to interpret and disseminate large amounts of data and information in real-time - always with the best interests of the client in mind. You will collaborate at times with the Product Development team to help guide and advise product strategy, offering subject matter expertise and other support when needed.

Ultimately, you should be able to provide technical, meteorological and general scientific knowledge to support Perry Weather’s clients and Product Development Team.

Job Essentials

  • Produce accurate and timely forecasts on a daily basis. Respond to client requests for “on-demand” or short-notice forecasts as they arise via email, phone or text.
  • Ability to tailor forecasts to suit clients’ specific needs and concerns. Perry Weather values candidates that are able provide informative yet easily understandable forecasts to clients in different industries.
  • Candidate will monitor nationwide weather trends and update Social Media accounts with informative, interesting and culturally relative content daily.
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Sales and Marketing teams to provide subject matter expertise when needed.
  • Represent Perry Weather at trade shows and other industry functions across the country. Promote the company and products while directly interacting with clients and potential clients.


  • Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work after-hours occasionally, but no overnight or shift work


  • 1-2 Years experience operational forecasting
  • Personality, sense of humor and ability to connect with clients
  • Experience with scientific programming
  • specifically the manipulation of large meteorological data sets
