Job description

Trinnovim LLC: Scientific Programmer

We are looking for a talented and driven individual to assist in model development, analysis and delivery of scientific data at a NASA research center doing Climate Reseach.

Model development will consist of guided Fortran coding, analysis will include software such as MATLAB, Python and R to produce interactive high quality graphics combined with easy-to-use analysis tools for custom data products, and delivery will be to assist in the design of a low-key data portal for model output dissemination.

The individual will be able to work closely with scientists to help them maintain and increase the scope of their research. In particular, the research focuses on ocean model development for the study of heat and carbon uptake, the role of oceans in climate change and related topics. The lead scientist in this project is Dr. Anastasia Romanou.

Specific Requirements:

  • BS/MS in a compter science, Earth science, technical or scientific area or equivalent experience;
  • Experience with any graphics packages/languages e.g. MATLAB, IDL, R;
  • Experience/familiarity with Unix- or Linux-based programming;
  • Experience/familiarity with programming languages Fortran, Python.
