Job description
As a Supervisory Physical Scientist, you will perform the following duties:
- Supervises staff. Planning and distributing work to be accomplished by subordinates; sets and adjusts short and long term priorities, and preparing schedules for the completion of work; finds ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work; evaluates the work performance of subordinates, providing technical oversight and instruction and addressing poor performance as part of the performance process; develops performance standards; gives advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
- Lead research of the improvement in global, regional and local predictions and projections and how modeling can be best integrated with respect to skill, efficiency, and adaptability. Lead research and development of new capabilities in atmospheric turbulence and dispersion representation of atmospheric hazardous materials.
- Manage research projects by establishing and implementing top-level strategy, objectives, and performance measures.
