To reinforce our Soft Commodities Research team globally we are looking for bilingual (English + Portuguese, Spanish, Hindi, Mandarin or Russian) Research analysts, with a background in agronomy (preferably agrometeorology), demonstrating an appetite to conduct elaborated analysis, and the ambition to grow in our global organisation.

To reinforce our Soft Commodities Research team globally we are looking for bilingual (English + Portuguese, Spanish, Hindi, Mandarin or Russian) Research analysts, with a background in agronomy (preferably agrometeorology), demonstrating an appetite to conduct elaborated analysis,  and the ambition to grow in our global organisation.

Job Purpose:
Manage the production analysis of a region for a set of soft commodities (grains, oilseeds, coffee, cocoa,...) and provide valuable information for the traders to set their strategies

Responsibilities:
• To collect first-hand information and to assess local crop situation
• To organize external production information across commodities in order to maximize information quality but minimize cost.
• To monitor farmer’s profitability as to analyze acreage shift (production cost analysis)
• To work closely with other research team members as to incorporate the production estimate in the overall S&D
• To provide accurate weather interpretation and potential impact on crop
• To communicate clearly and concisely all crop assessments
• To provide long term trends

Requirements:
Education, experience, skills:
• Education: Agronomist (meteorologist preferred)
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in agronomy and crop assessment

Competences:
• Quick minded:                 Demonstrates strong statistical and analytical skills
• Communication:              Must be able to communicate clearly. Good English skills.
• Team Work:                     Must work with other researchers around the world / close to traders
• Initiative:                         VERY IMPORTANT. self-motivated and self-driven
• Ownership:                      Demonstrates full accountability for own work
• Detail orientation:           Pays attention to details but communicates the big picture
