Information for Recruiters
The most effective way to connect with Meteorology students is through an on-site visit to the department. We encourage companies to participate in our departmental career fair each spring, Meteorology Career Days, which is typically held the last week of March. However, individual fall recruiting visits can be arranged as well.
We have partnered with the College of Engineering in using the eCareer online scheduling system (Symplicity software) to organize and arrange our recruiting visits. The benefit for our recruiters is that with one online registration they gain access to all interested students in our department as well as all programs in the College of Engineering and in the Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering in our own College -- Earth and Mineral Sciences. Important note: Alumni do not have access to the eCareer online scheduling system that we are using with Engineering Services. If you'd like your job announced to current students and alumni, you should mail your announcement to firstname.lastname@example.org
Using the eCareer System
We plan to create eCareer accounts for those recruiters who have visited us in the past year, and contact them directly with their account information. New contacts wishing to set up a recruiting visit can visit the eCareer employer log-in page and click on "Register" to set up a new account. Once your registration has been approved you can log-in and request dates for a visit.
Again, this important note: Alumni do not have access to the eCareer online scheduling system that we are using with Engineering Services. If you'd like your job announced to current students and alumni, you should mail your announcement to email@example.com

Other Ways to Reach Meteorology Students
Sometimes a departmental visit is not the best option for a company. Some larger organizations looking to interview students from multiple disciplines prefer to arrange their visits through Penn State's Career Services division. Because Meteorology students are accustomed to companies visiting the department directly, we recommend that if you will be arranging your visit through Career Services, that you also contact the department (firstname.lastname@example.org) to help publicize your visit and outline the necessary procedure for applicants.
Sometimes a campus visit is not possible at all. A great many smaller organizations approach our students electronically. Job Postings giving details about open positions and application procedures also can be entered into the eCareer System for all registered students to access. However, please remember that if you enter your job in the eCareer system, it will not be accessible externally on our jobs site, which has become popular with alumni and the general public. If you'd like to post a job, we suggest that you send it directly to email@example.com so that we can post it for you externally.
