NOAA Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship
Program:
The
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Ernest
F. Hollings scholarship program is designed 1) to increase
undergraduate training in oceanic and atmospheric science,
research, technology, and education and foster multidisciplinary
training opportunities; 2) to increase public understanding
and support for stewardship of the ocean and atmosphere and
improve environmental literacy; 3) to recruit and prepare
students for public service careers with NOAA and other natural
resource and science agencies at the Federal, state and local
levels of government; and 4) to recruit and prepare students
for careers as teachers and educators in oceanic and atmospheric
science and to improve scientific and environmental education
in the United States.
Up
to $28,425 is available per student: Up to $8,000 of
academic assistance per year for full-time study during the
junior and senior years; a 10-week, paid ($650/week) internship
during the intervening summer; housing subsidy during the
internship; round-trip travel to the internship site; and
travel expenses to the Hollings scholarship program conference.

NASA-USRP Scholarships:
The
National Aeronautics and Space Administration is pleased to
announce the NASA Undergraduate Student Research Program (NASA-USRP)
offering undergraduates across the United States mentored
research experiences at ten participating NASA Centers during
two sessions each calendar year. The NASA-USRP seeks applications
from undergraduates enrolled full-time in an accredited U.S.
college or university. Applicants must be rising juniors or
seniors at the completion of the Spring semester/quarter.
Eligible fields of study are academic major or demonstrated
coursework concentration in engineering, mathematics, computer
science or physical/life sciences. For your convenience, the
NASA USRP program announcement with application is downloadable

Scholarship Program:

Lockheed Martin Scholarships:
Scholarships
are available for full-time undergraduate women at Penn State
in the Colleges of Agricultural Sciences, Earth and Mineral
Sciences, Health & Human Development, the Eberly College
of Science, and the School of Information Sciences and Technology.
These scholarships are administered through the Women In the
Sciences and Engineering Institute (WISE) at Penn State. More
information about who is eligible for these scholarships can

Northern and Central New Jersey Chapter
of the Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA):
The Northern
and Central New Jersey Chapter of the Air & Waste Management
Association (A&WMA) is a professional organization consisting
of professionals interested in the environmental air and waste
fields.
This local
chapter is once again offering undergraduate scholarships.
The scholarship program is open to full-time (i.e. 9 credits
or more) undergraduate college students pursuing courses of
study leading to a career (or post-graduate study) in the
environmental sciences/engineering or environmental management
or related fields.
Eligible
applicants must either:
1) be a resident
of New Jersey within the chapter area (Northern and Central
New Jersey) or
2) be attending a college or university within the chapter
area.

Scholarships:
In 2006,
the Foundation expects to award 80 scholarships of up to $5000
and 50 honorable mentions of $350 on the basis of merit to
sophomore and junior-level college students. Students must
