This spring, approximately 60 Penn State University Meteorology undergraduate and advanced degree students will graduate from Penn State and will be looking for a rewarding career. Here’s your chance to recruit the cream-of-the-crop in atmospheric sciences for employment or an internship. Our ninth annual Career Days is scheduled for March 25-26, 2008 and we’d like to invite you to participate. There are no registration fees to attend, however, you are responsible for your own travel and lodging costs.

Career Days will kick-off on Tuesday, March 25 with individual interview sessions from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Bank of America Career Services Center on the University Park Campus. That same evening, an informal reception will be held at the Nittany Lion Inn where recruiters will have a chance to give Meteorology students brief (five minutes or less) presentations about their organization. A reception sponsored by the Department of Meteorology will follow the presentations, giving the students and company representatives ample opportunity to interact outside a formal interview.

Individual interviews at the Bank of America Career Services Center will continue on Wednesday, March 26. I encourage you to visit the web site listed below for more information, a look at prior years’ events, and to register. Alternatively, you may register by completing the enclosed form. The deadline for registration is February 23, 2008 in order to give the students adequate time to choose the companies with which they’d like to interview and to set up the individual interview schedules.

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Nittany Lion Inn (800-233-7505) in State College for your visit. The room rates are $107/night (plus taxes) for single or double occupancy, and will be held at that rate until February 23, 2008. Please mention “MCareer” and the Meteorology Career Days block when booking your room. Please note that for a full refund, cancellations or changes must be made 72 hours prior to arrival.
