Research Interests: Synoptic meteorology and prediction at small scales, application of satellite observations, climatology.

Teaching Interests: Synoptic meteorology and forecasting.

Dr. Cahir investigates intermittent or local physical processes in the atmosphere that can have impacts on short-range weather forecasts. He is interested in precipitation modeling and forecasting. Dr. Cahir also studies climatological anomalies and their relation to medium-range forecasting.
