Dr. Anne Thompson is currently a Professor of Meteorology at The Pennsylvania State University. Her research interests include atmospheric chemistry, remote sensing of ozone, and global change, including the simulation of future and pre-industrial troposphere. Her research projects include the SHADOZ campaign, which centers around tropospheric ozone measurements in the tropics and subtropics. The IONS campaigns, both IONS-04 and IONS-06, are part of the INTEX Ozonesonde Network Study, in which numerous sites across North America launch ozonesondes to take atmospheric measurements. The NATIVE campaign is run from Penn State, and centers around a mobile atmospheric research trailer that takes trace gas measurements. MILAGRO centers around pollution studies in megacities like Mexico City. INTEX-B focused on pollution outflow from Mexico City. The topics range from atmospheric chemistry to biogeochemical cycles. To learn more about her classes, or access course material, please use the class links on the left.
