Request for Proposals for WISE Camp 2005
Workshops and Projects

The WISE Institute is currently looking for faculty or graduate students in science and engineering to present workshops (90-minute workshops, presented twice) and projects (four hours per day for 4 days, with student presentations on the 5th day) for WISE Camp 2005.  WISE Camp is a one-week residential program for young women talented in math and science who will be entering the 11th or 12th grade in Fall 2005.  It is scheduled to take place June 26-July 2, 2005.  This is a career exploration program, and up to 36 students will be selected to attend.

The program will consist of six hands-on workshops (one selected from each WISE college) and four one-week-long projects, two in the sciences and two in engineering.  Workshops will take place in two sessions every morning from 8:30am-10:00am and 10:30am-12:00pm.  The participant group will be divided into two groups of up to 18 students each for the workshops.  Participants will be divided into four groups of up to 9 for each project.  Projects are scheduled for the afternoon hours (1:00-5:00pm) each day.   

If you are interested in proposing a workshop or project for WISE Camp, please complete the form below and return to the WISE Institute, 111G Kern Building (or email cxg1@psu.edu) by or before Monday, March 14, 2005.  Workshops and projects will be compensated at a flat rate.  Proposals for workshops and projects MUST BE HANDS-ON ACTIVITIES.
