A symposium on Atmospheric Turbulence and Boundary Layers was held June 24-25, 2010 in honor of Dr. John C. Wyngaard, who recently retired from the teaching faculty in the Department of Meteorology at The Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Wyngaard had a distinguished teaching and research career at Penn State and is a world-renowned leader in the field of atmospheric turbulence.

The book treats atmospheric and engineering turbulence in a unified way, gives clear explanation of the fundamental concepts of modeling turbulence, and has an up-to-date treatment of turbulence in the atmospheric boundary layer. Student exercises are included at the ends of chapters, and worked solutions are available online for use by course instructors.
