Duties:

This position supports the 18-24 month Applied Sciences Climate & Resilience project within the Earth Science Division at NASA GSFC.

• Establish regular, dedicated engagement with local planning entities throughout Prince George’s County and engage city planners to help them quantify their risk by neighborhood

• Survey climate preparedness, e.g. around flood risk, and the information needed to build infrastructure resilience through a market survey or needs assessment

• Report on findings from surveying local communities • Interface with applied sciences researchers and data systems to deliver te best-fit NASA product or product resulting from collaboration with First Street Foundation

• Prepare publications on survey results and solutions co-produced with local communities.

 Qualifications:

Phd, Master's or Batchelor's degree The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and experience applying climate information to inform sustainable infrastructure decisions, particularly around flooding.

U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident only due to access to NASA/GSFC
