PhD student, Walter Kolczynski, takes second place at AMS Conference

Ph.D. Meteorology student, Walter Kolczynski, recently took home an award for his presentation at the American Meteorological Society's 23rd Conference on Weather and Forecasting and 19th Conference on Numerical Weather Prediction which was held in Omaha, NE from June 1-5, 2009.  Walter finished second out of eighteen competitors for his oral presentation entitled "Ensemble-derived Estimation of Wind Uncertainty Using a Linear Variance Calibration for Probabilistic Weather Applications."
