Career Days Overview
Meteorology Career Days is a departmental career fair that is typically held each spring in late March or early April. The career fair is designed to expose students at all academic levels (freshman through seniors at the undergraduate level and all graduate students) to the range of career opportunities available to them with a degree in meteorology.
We encourage companies to attend who may not even have an open positions at the time of the event. Career Days is structured so those companies can choose to only attend the opening night reception, which is just a chance for them to get some exposure with the students via a brief presentation and informal networking. It's a great networking opportunity for the students as well.
Career Days is typically held for two days, with an optional third day for any company wishing to do longer second interviews. The format of the event is as follows:
Day 1
- Formal 1/2 hour interviews held at the Bank of America Career Services Center. (Approximately 35-40 students participate in formal interviews).
- Very brief evening presentations by each of the company recruiters (all students are encouraged to attend this event). (Approximately 75-100 students attend the evening presentations).
- Informal mixer with students, company representatives, and meteorology faculty and staff.
- Formal 1/2 hour interviews continue at the Bank of America Career Services Center
Meteorology Career Days is free to all company representatives (except for covering their travel costs). That being said, donations in support of the career fair mixer/reception are always welcome and will be publicly recognized.
