The Environmental Science Division at the Argonne National Laboratory is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to conduct model simulations with high-resolution global and regional climate models. The position focuses on analyzing convective systems and weather extremes to understand their predictability and how they are influenced by environmental factors such as urbanization, aerosols, and climate change.
In this role, you will lead model simulations of convective systems with high-resolution regional and global models, evaluate these simulations, and investigate the impact of environmental factors on convective systems and precipitation. Key responsibilities include conducting high-resolution model simulations, contributing to model development, analyzing both model results and observational datasets, and publishing research findings. The project will be conducted in close collaboration with scientists within a team.
