It’s a chance for students to see what they’re learning in classrooms and textbooks taking place before their eyes and in the skies.
A group of Penn State researchers, led by Dr. David Stensrud, have been able to learn more about an important layer of the atmosphere by using readily-available data from radars.
The Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to conduct research with a collaborative team toward enhancing ensemble hydrologic predictions at weather to seasonal timescales. The candidate will develop, test, and apply advanced statistical and/or machine learning methods to prepare meteorological output from global ensemble prediction systems for water forecasting applications.
The CIRES Communications Director will lead CIRES’ internal and external communications efforts, and will serve on the CIRES Director’s Senior Management Team, supporting and leading institute-wide and other projects as requested by the Director.
