Biography:
During his undergraduate years, Brandon researched the effects that the Olympic Mountains of Washington State have on frontal strength, propagation speed, and precipitation. For his master's degree, Brandon worked with Dr. Paul Markowski and Dr. Kevin Bowley to identify the synoptic-scale characteristics that differentiate tornadic and nontornadic supercells. Brandon's current Ph.D. work with Dr. Markowski explores the predictability of supercells and tornadoes. After graduating, Brandon plans on either pursuing a career in research or the private sector. Outside of his classes and research, Brandon enjoys hiking, playing video games, and metal detecting.
