Weather has been and continues to be an important element of ensuring grid reliability.  Like much of the energy industry, MISO faces a rapidly evolving grid with a different risk profile stemming from a high penetration of renewables.  MISO’s ability to accurately forecast weather conditions and translate accurate weather forecasts into effective load, renewable energy, and outage outlooks directly allows MISO and its members to prepare in advance and reliably operate the grid.
